Double-faced wool, finished by hand

Double-faced cloth carries no lining — both faces are finished cloth, joined by hand. Three days' work for one coat, and nothing between the wearer and the wool.

1. 01

   Choosing the cloth

   Only 100% wool double-faced cloth, from 680 g/m². Dense nap, enough weight to hang without collapsing, creases that fall out overnight.

2. 02

   Two faces, no lining

   The raw edge is turned inward between the two cloth faces, so seams stay thin and hold their shape — none of the bulk a bagged lining adds.

3. 03

   Hand-closed edges

   Edges are closed stitch by stitch, leaving no line on the face. One worker spends about three days on a single coat: the slowest part, and the hardest to replace.
