Our Story

PINZHAN started in Hebei, northern China, where winter lasts long enough to justify a proper coat.

We began by making coats for our own children. The shops sold padded jackets that were warm but shapeless, and grown-up wool coats that were beautiful but too small for anyone who still grows. We wanted the second thing in the first size.

So we learned to cut double-faced wool: cloth with no lining, finished on both faces, seamed by hand.

Today we make coats, knitwear and accessories for ages 4 to 18, from 100% wool and Inner Mongolia cashmere, and we sell them wholesale to boutiques, chains and department stores, from 30 pieces per style.
